Theresa’s Cafe in Farnworth serves as a dependable local spot where straightforward, hearty fare takes center stage. It’s the kind of place people gravitate toward when they want a no-fuss, home-cooked meal—whether stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or a casual takeaway. The atmosphere is quietly welcoming, marked by friendly service delivered with genuine smiles, which adds a touch of warmth to the modest interior. Theresa herself seems to be a familiar presence behind the counter, reinforcing the sense of a community-focused cafe rather than a commercial chain.

Breakfast here lives up to its “monster” descriptions, with generous portions and carefully prepared eggs that avoid anything crispy or overdone. Lunchtimes find a steady crowd, including hospital staff nearby looking for quick, filling meals without compromising on homemade quality. The pies, in particular, earn repeated praise for being freshly made and well worth trying—a local specialty that pairs well with the simple salads also on offer.

The cafe’s size is intimate, which means larger groups might feel a bit snug, but this also helps maintain a relaxed, easygoing rhythm throughout the day. There’s a down-to-earth charm in the way everything is cooked fresh to order, including sides like homemade chips seasoned just right, which keeps visitors coming back. If you’re around Farnworth looking for a place to settle in with a strong cuppa and a genuinely satisfying meal, Theresa’s fits that role neatly—especially on quieter weekend afternoons or at lunchtime during the week.

That pie was sooo goooooood I took 4 home for my tea with cooking instructions from the lovely Theresa. Breakfast again tomorrow can't wait for the food and the delightful company, all I can say is it's a good job I don't live closer, I would never be out, keep it up Theresa, the food and the conversation.. An absolute delight - A hidden treasure. Food was homemade and freshly cooked. The taste was unbelievable. I would visit this place again and I would go as far as, I would make a detour to visit it. For the price I was expecting the food to be frozen and tasteless but how wrong was I?
